The saba shioyaki ( grilled imported mackerel with salt ) was faultless but it was really my yaki niku don that wowed me — thin slices of grilled Australian beef and onions generously layered over a bowl of rice with a fine chilli pepper sauce lightly drizzled over it — so this is what comfort food tastes like... So many fond memories for its dishes such as the onion chicken ( crispy skin chicken topped with aromatic onions ), the apple fish ( their sweet and sour fish with sliced apples instead ), the sponge-like tofu with its holes and the sharks fin soup...masak-masak

It was much better than its equivalents elsewhere in the city, with breaded chicken ( It always strikes as strange that this is on so many Japanese menus as it hardly seems authentic ) that contained genuine fillet meat rather than skin and a pleasingly thick curry sauce that contained hefty chunks of vegetables...TimeOut KL
